LCC speech team takes part in HNS meet

HARTINGTON — On Saturday the LCC speech team traveled to Hartington to participate in the Hartington-Newcastle speech meet.

Battle Creek won the varsity competition, while the host Hartington-Newcastle team took second. Wayne finished the day in third place.

LCC team members gave their best efforts in their events and represented the school well, coaches said.

Faith Galvin placed third in Extemporaneous Speaking in the varsity final round.

Cloey Young placed third in Poetry in the next-in final round.

Ambriella Kock placed sixth in PIO in the Novice division.

Many other members also participated in different events. All participants received valuable feedback from the judges that they can use going forward into the rest of their season.

The team’s next meet will be on Feb. 13 in Wakefield.
