AINSWORTH - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bear wrestling team headed some 150 miles west on Highway 20 on Jan. 30 to wrestle in the Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Invitational.
LCC placed 12th in the team standings after posting 15 points on the day. Valentine won the team title with 92.5 points, West Holt was runner-up with 71.5 and Sumner-Eddyville-Miller was third with 70.
The lions’ share of the Lady Bears points came from Grace Galvin who finished third at 140 pounds.
Galvin lost her opening match to Megan Jones of Ainsworth but went 4-0 the rest of the day to bring home the third-place medal.
Justice Olson won a match at 130-pounds by a pin over Lillianna Garcia-Koenig of Creighton.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is set to head west again, but just to Plainview for the district wrestling tournament on Feb. 6 and 7.
