PLAINVIEW - The Randolph wrestling team took part in the Plainview Boys Wrestling Invitational on Jan. 31 and came away with fourth place in the team standings with 97.5 points.
Cedar Catholic grabbed the title with 197, Plainview was second with 182.5 and East Butler was third with 164.5.
Winnebago rounded out the top five with 87.5 points. Bentley Reimers and Cole Jensen brought home gold medals for the Cards at 113 and 138 pounds respectively.
Reimers lost a narrow decision to open his day to Guy Wortman of Plainview then used a decision, a major decision and a technical fall to win his weight class.
Jensen used three pins to claim his gold. Tate Brodersen was second at 150, Elijah Bermel was fourth at 157 while Kamdin Worlein (138) and Esai Warman (175) each placed sixth.
On Jan. 29, Randolph hosted Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in a dual and turned away the Bears 47-24.
Trey Tjaden defeated Weston Patefield by a technical fall 17-1 at the 4:27 mark of the bout, Bermel defeated Alex Allison by fall and Stewart Umberger pinned Devyn Staples of LCC in 36 seconds at 285.
The remainder of the weight classes were forfeits excluding 190 pounds.
Jake Lipp defeated Esai Warman of Randolph with a fall. The Cardinals will travel to Wakefield Feb. 7 for an invitational.
