Howey earns Chamber award

HARTINGTON — Gary Howey couldn’t believe the news Friday. He was ‘overwhelmed’ as he accepted the Community Service Award at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet last Friday evening.

“This is great, I am overwhelmed,” said Howey. “Of all the awards I have received this is the best.”

HARTINGTON — Food, awards, appreciation and laughter were all part of Friday’s annual Hartington Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

Tom Tideman, Master of Ceremonies, welcomed over 150 guests to the VFW Club event. The highlight was the presentation of the 2005 Community Service Award to Gary Howey, long-time supporter of the Hartington Community.

HARTINGTON — Congressman Tom Osborne told about 60 people gathered here for an E-Commerce workshop that “E-commerce gives rural Nebraska a chance,” . That phrase was the common thread that drew eager learners to the day-long workshop at the VFW Club.
