HARTINGTON — League races are beginning to take shape as area bowling teams move deeper into the winter schedule, with Thielen Cleaners, Green Acres and The Chief Bar holding the top spots in their respective circuits.
In the Women’s Commercial League, Thielen Cleaners has built a commanding lead with a 74–10 record. Avery Electric is second at 49.5–34.5, followed by Stevens Market (48.5–35.5) and Summers Service (45.5–38.5).
Team honors for the week went to Thielen Cleaners with a high team series of 2,138 and high game of 729. Florence Tuomisto rolled a 482 series for individual honors, while Cleo Krohn posted the top game at 176.
The Classic League race is tighter, with Green Acres on top at 40.5–16.5 for 53.5 points. Wynot Farm Store is at 38.5–21.5 (52.5 points).
Wynot Farm Store rolled a 2,213 series, while Shumway Lumber had the high game at 767. Gus Heimes led individuals with a 506 series, and Ron Miller had the best game at 186.
In the Commercial League, The Chief Bar holds first with a 46–14 mark.
