Oct. 2: Man calls asking how to get a copy of his criminal record. He is told to call the State Patrol and for a fee, they will get him that info.
Fire reported near Coleridge. Cedar-Knox Public Power was also called out because it appears the fire started from a downed power line.
Oct. 3: Hartington ambulance is paged out for a man having medical issues.
Dollar General employee calls to tell Sheriffs Department that someone ran into their building.
Wynot Fire Department paged out for a combine fire.
Woman calls to say she has been getting “threatening messages from scammers, saying I better pay up, or you’ll be sorry.”
Laurel woman wants to file a fraud report.
Caller advises that a life chain is going to be held Sunday along the highway and they want to make sure law enforcement is aware.
Randolph nursing home called for an ambulance for a resident who fell and injured their head.
Security company for a Hartington store called to notify law enforcement an alarm has been triggered.
Oct. 4: Man calls for an ambulance for a Hartington woman who has not been feeling well and has now fallen down.
Man calls to ask for assistance from law enforcement. “There is a man by the dam wall throwing water at stuff and cursing at the people down on their boats.
Man calls to report a hay bale is on fire at his farm. Hartington Fire Department is paged out.
Sheriffs Department is advised a fire alarm is going off at the Hartington nursing home. After calling the nursing home, it was discovered that a resident pulled the alarm, but there are no problems.
Fordyce Fire Department called to inform dispatch they are on scene at a fire at the dump. Nothing is needed they just wanted to make dispatch aware.
Wynot Fire Department called out to a bean fire north of the Bow Valley elevator.
Oct. g: Caller concerned about a suspicious vehicle that has been driving around and parking in various spots in Belden for several days.
Man calls to report “a minor fender Bender” on a rural road.
Man calls to inform dispatch that he repossessed a vehicle from a Coleridge resident.
Caller reports a dog just ran across Highway 57 south of Hartington. He advised that someone might want to check it out, so the dog does not get hit.
Oct. 6: Clinic called for an ambulance for an elderly man who is having difficulty breathing.
Randolph ambulance paged out for a woman who fell outside of her house. Man calls to tell dispatch his vehicle broke down on a county road. He does not need any help, but wants dispatch to know so it doesn’t get towed. He will soon be in the process of moving it.
Belden resident called to say the fire whistle has been going off for eight minutes, now. They are not happy it’s been going off for so long.
Caller reports a semi and car accident. An ambulance needs to be dispatched.
Hospital calls to get a welfare check on a patient. His readings are looking pretty low and the clinic can not get in contact with him.
Oct. 7: Man called very concerned about a driver he encountered on Highway 81. “A guy pulled right out in front of me. I don’t think he should be driving. I pulled over and talked to him and he said he could do that because he had his blinker on. I just don’t think he should be on the road.”
Woman calls to report a fire, but she is not at all sure where she is and where the fire is.
Caller reports a man hit a deer on Highway 57. The car is on the highway and can’t be moved.
Ambulance paged out for Hartington man experiencing very low blood pressure.
Woman called to say that someone took her dog out of her yard and she believes she has taken it to the dog pound.
Randolph ambulance is paged out for nursing home resident who is very weak and experiencing tremors.
Belden woman called to ask for medical help for her dad that has fallen down. He doesn’t appear to be injured but can’t get up.
Oct. 8: Man calls to report there are “50 or more black cows out and they are all over the road.
Another report comes in about the cows being out on the highway. “I hit two of them with my semi. The cows went flying. I can’t find them, now. They must have been 800-900 pounds, but the truck is fine — I have a bull bar. It’s spendy but worth it.
Another man calls in about the cows out on the road. A semi is now being reported rolled over because of the cows being out. There is now scrap metal all over the road. Hartington Fire Department is dispatched out for traffic control.
