HARTINGTON — January is National Blood Donor Month, and Hartington community members are starting the new year by showing incredible generosity and heart. At the most recent Hartington Community Blood Drive, 38 units of blood were collected from 37 donors - enough to help up to 114 patients in local hospitals.
Donors who reached major milestones at this drive, illustrating their ongoing commitment to their community include, Michael Uhing, five gallons; Ronald Hochstein, nine gallons; and Timothy Lammers, 12 gallons.
LifeServe Blood Center appreciates the help of LeRoy Hanson and Trinity Lutheran Church of Hartington for hosting this vital community event.
To keep this tradition strong, LifeServe is looking for volunteers to help with upcoming blood drives. Volunteers help rally the community, spread awareness, and support a smooth and successful donor experience. Anyone interested in making a meaningful impact close to home can contact Kim Jensen Dietrich at [email protected] or 712.212.5016.
The next Hartington Community Blood Drive will be 12:30-6 p.m., Feb. 19, at the Hartington VFW.
