WEST POINT - The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans were sent to the consolation bracket of the Mid State Conference Tournament with a 67-25 loss to Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Feb. 2.
Final statistics were not available at press time.
Cedar fell behind early, trailing 24-2 at the end of the first eight minutes and the Lady Bluejays never really looked back on the way to the big win.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Trojans defeated Ponca for the second time in four days in the opening round of the conference tournament 38-30 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Addison Walter was the lone Lady Trojan in double figures in the low-scoring defensive battle.
Walter scored 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field, 2-of-2 from downtown and 3-for-3 from the foul line.
Waqlter made it a double-double by posting 10 rebounds.
Anisten Wortmann added nine points, Brynn Bernecker added seven and Savannah Pick chipped in with five.
Wortmann pulled down eight rebounds and Pick grabbed seven missed shots.
In a win over Plainview on Jan. 29, the game was tight until the Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Pirates 22-12 in the final period to get the win, 53-45.
Wortmann led the way with 21 points on the evening while Walter added 16.
Wortmann yanked down nine rebounds.
Cedar will play in a consolation game in O’Neill on Feb. 5.
