Lady Wildcats fall to Plainview

HARTINGTON - The Plainview Lady Pirates came to town for a final tune up with Hartington- Newcastle before the teams were to embark on the 2026 Greater Northeast Activities Conference Tournament which was scheduled to get underway Feb. 3.

The Lady Pirates turned away the Lady ‘Cats 57-29.

Plainview took an early lead then methodically added to the advantage as the game wore on, outscoring Hartington-Newcastle in each frame to post the 28-point win.

Vayda Lippert poured in 20 points in the contest and made it a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Nora Lange added four points and Ziva Stratman chipped in with three.

Hartington-Newcastle was to take the No. 7 seed into the GNAC Tournament and was set to take on West Holt on Feb. 3 in Atkinson.

The Feb. 3 winners will move on to the semifinals on Feb. 6 with the conference finals set for Feb. 7 at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
