OAKLAND — The Randolph Lady Cardinal wrestling team competed in the Lewis & Clark Conference Duals Tournament on Jan. 22 in Homer, then wrapped up a busy week at the Oakland- Craig Invitational on Jan. 24 in Oakland.
Peyton Thelen (130), Gracie Wortman (135), Mabel Ngebeh (155), Maddy Aulner (170) and Kloe Weiss (235) competed in the duals tournament and, despite having just five wrestlers, the Lady Cards held their own in the event.
Thelen went 5-0 on the day with two pins and three forfeits. Wortman also went 5-0 in the tournament with two pins and three forfeits.
Weiss and Aulner each recorded five wins by forfeit, while Ngebeh finished 3-2 in the tournament.
In the Oakland-Craig Invitational, the Randolph girls placed 16th overall with 48 points and sixth in the girls team standings.
South Sioux City won the girls championship with 166.5 points, while North Bend Central was second with 82.
Individually, Wortman placed first in the invitational with a pair of wins. Thelen finished second, Weiss was third and Ngebeh placed fifth on the day.
The Lady Cards were set to host Laurel-Concord- Coleridge in a Parents Night dual on Jan. 29 before traveling to the Norfolk Catholic Invitational on Jan. 31.
