HARTINGTON - Trinity Lutheran church choir of this city broadcasted for the second time over station WNAX on Sunday evening. The vesper service commenced at nine o’clock and lasted one hour, during which time the pastor, Rev. H. R. Gregerson, delivered a sermon and the choir sang.
This program was heard by people throughout this county, who tuned in to hear the Hartington choir. The sermon, the scripture reading and the musical numbers came in clearly and distinctly. The Trinity Lutheran quartet members are H. C. Humann, Carl Hjortsvang, William Jacobsen and Rev. H. R. Gregerson. The following local people constitute the choir: Rev. and Mrs. H. R. Gregerson, Corenna Olson, Julia Brown, Ruth Olson, La-Vern Johnson, Mrs. Howard Hunt, Irma Parkas, Clara Schager, Helen Munter, Mable TeSelle, Eola Klein, William Jacobsen, John Christensen, H. C. Humann, Howard Hunt, Donald Helmsdoerfer, Franklin Christensen, L. A. Nelson, Mrs. William Jacobsen and Carl Hjortsvang. The choir is under the direction of Mr. Hjortsvang.

HARTINGTON - Mayor Anthony Hirschman, who is secretary of the Cedar County Fair Association, and C. D. Webster, who is doing 4-H club work in this county, returned last Wednesday evening from Lincoln where they attended the meeting of the state secretary and the state board of agriculture.
Mr. Hirschman represented the Cedar County Fair Association at the state secretary’s meeting held in the Cornhusker hotel. Representatives from 86 out of the 92 counties in Nebraska were present at this meeting.
At the business session it was decided that the Nebraska State Fair will be held at Lincoln beginning this year on the second week of September. Mr. Jackson of Lincoln was re-elected secretary of the state fair association and P. Reed was selected as president of the state board.

HARTINGTON - Miss Cecelia Walz returned on Monday from Rochester where she and her brother, Leonard, were with their mother, Mrs. Fred Walz, who is a patient in the Rochester hospital. Leonard is still with his mother who is now getting along nicely.

HARTINGTON - Norman Backhaus, the six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Backhaus, will make his first radio appearance Sunday afternoon over radio station, WJAG, Norfolk. Norman, who is quite talented and has a fine voice will be on the air at 3 o’clock, and will sing several popular selections.

HARTINGTON — A marriage license per day was the record established last week by Cedar County Judge E.W. Hesse and his office assistant, Miss Cecelia Walz. Commencing on Friday, Jan. 17 and ending Tuesday Jan. 21, Judge Hesse issued one license to marry each day. The work the past week was not as rushing as during holiday season when seven marriage license were issued in four days.
On Friday, Jan. 17 George Ericson of Boone, Iowa and Marine Henrietta Wallace, also of Boone, Iowa, obtained a license to wed. License was granted to Fay Bobenmoyer, son of Charles G. Bobenmoyer, prominent farmer of the Hartington community, and Miss Erna Vogt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Vogt of near Hartington, also on Jan. 17.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, Miss Walz issued a marriage license to LaMont E, Fields of Lakes Andes, S.D. and Miss Lenore Tietge of Lake Andes. The couple had the distinction of being united in marriage at the home of Judge E.W. Hesse and Mrs. Hesse in this city.
