Novice team claims second title
HARTINGTON - The Hartington- Newcastle speech team took several medals home after competing at the Boone Central speech meet Saturday.
The Hartington-Newcastle Speech Team took home a novice team championship and a varsity fifth place finish overall.
Coach Kyle Stevens was pleased with the early-season performance.
“It was a good showing for the varsity team at the first competition of the season,” Stevens said. “Everyone took a big step forward with their performances, and I look forward to the progress we can make as the season progresses.”

“Everyone on the team is continuing to grow and develop their scripts and speeches,” Stevens said. “Each student is working hard to accomplish goals, and the coaches are proud of them.”
The Wildcat Speech team will be in action this Saturday in Hartington as they host the HNS/ CCHS Invite.
