Moving Day

Highway 12 was blocked off for several hours Thursday morning and early afternoon as crews worked to help Luke Schmitz move the old Sacred Heart Catholic Church rectory from its foundation next to the church in Wynot to its new home in Bow Valley. A crew from Cedar Knox Public Power District, as well as Nebraska State Patrol Troopers, Cedar County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Cedar County Road Department employees all got involved in the project. Before the house could be moved, Schmitz spent several weeks working inside of it preparing it ready for the move.
