PLAINVIEW - Evie Freeman claimed two conference titles and Ashlynn Dailey claimed a conference title during wrestling action last week.
The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojan wrestling team took part in the Greater Northeast Activities Conference Tournament Jan. 23 and wound up fifth in the team scoring with their three wrestlers then went to Norfolk Jan. 24 for the Mid State Conference Tourney where they ended up fifth with 65.5 points West Holt won the girls team title in the GNAC with 187.5 points with Plainview/Osmond taking the runnerup trophy with 124.5.
Evie Freeman won a GNAC individual title at 115 pounds and was named to the All-Conference first team.
Ashlynn Dailey was third at the GNAC meet, as was Morgan Kuchta at 110 and 140 pounds respectively.
The Lady Trojans earned a pair of titles and a runnerup in the Mid State Tournament.
Freeman made it two straight with three consecutive falls, the last one in just 20 seconds to take the 120-pound championship.
Dailey took first at 110 pounds with a couple of falls, one in 17 seconds, and a major decision. Kuchta placed second at 135 pounds with a win and a loss.
