LAUREL — Raises were approved for several positions at last week’s Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School Board meeting.
The school board’s Negotiations Committee met Dec. 31, to discuss recommended modifications to Classified Staff/Technician Compensation and then presented their results at the Monday meeting.
Superintendent Jeremy Christiansen said LCC has a good relationship with area districts, which allows them to share wage and salary information to make sure the LCC District remains competitive with area schools.
The Board decided substitute teachers will be paid $160 per day next school year, a $15 per day increase over this year.
The changes also include a two percent raise for activity bus drivers, accompanists, Level III drivers, certified van and bus drivers, and substitute certified van and bus drivers.
Substitute paraprofessionals, cooks, custodians, secretaries will sess a 5.1 percent wage increase.
The board also decided to transition the current Sick Leave and Personal Leave system to a paid time off (PTO) system with an increase to the maximum days that can be carried over in sick leave accrual.
