NELIGH — The Laurel-Concord Coleridge Lady Bears are starting to come around in the middle of the 2025-26 campaign, winning their fourth consecutive game including three big wins last week.
LCC turned back Neligh-Oakdale in a game played in Neligh Jan. 17 by 32 points.
The second quarter allowed the Lady Bears to enjoy a lead after the first period ended with LCC up 12-8.
A 23-8 run in the second quarter made it 35-16 then the Lady Bears added 15 points to the lead in the third to put the game out of reach.
Rena Rasmussen and Kaida Eriksen poured in 20 and 18 points respectively. Willa Roberts chipped in with seven.
Rasmussen recorded a doubledouble when she hauled in 19 missed shots.
Eriksen handed out five assists and Rasmussen swiped three steals.
LCC led 38-17 at the intermission but the Lady Bobcats made a bit of a comeback in the third period.
The Lady Bears went into the final frame leading 53-38 and outscored Summerland 13-8 in the final stanza to post the win.
Rasmussen had another 20-point evening with 20 but it was Eriksen who paced the Lady Bears with 21.
Kvols added nine and Rasmussen pulled down 25 rebounds.
The game with the Lady Blue Devils was a low scoring contest, but LCC made the most of its possession and put away the stubborn blueclad ladies by the 4-point margin of victory.
Kvols scored 15 points, Rasmussen added nine and McCorkindale scored eight.Rasmussen recorded 30 rebounds on the evening.
LCC was set to travel to Hartington Jan. 20 to take on the Hartington- Newcastle Lady Wildcats. The Lady Bears will continue on the road at Battle Creek on Jan. 22 before a trip to Norfolk on Jan. 27 to take on Lutheran High Northeast.
