SUMMERLAND — Gracie Wortman wrestled to a title at 135 pounds at the Summerland Bobcat Lady Invitational on Jan. 12 and was the lone Lady Cardinal to find the medal stand.
West Holt took the team title with 148.5 points, Ord was second with 132 and South Sioux City was third with 120.
The Lady Cards posted a team score of 47.5 which put them 10th in the 36-team invitational.
Wortman pinned her first three opponents to end up in the finals at 135 pounds then used a technical fall over Claire Kester of Summerland 18-0 at the 6:00 mark of the bout.
Peyton Thelen went 3-2 on the day at 130. She pinned her first opponent, was defeated by fall in the second round, won by fall and a major decision in her first two rounds in the consolation bracket then lost by fall to Payton Becker of Boone Central.
Mabel Ngebeh (155), Maddy Aulner (170) and Khloe Weiss (235) all went 1-2 in the tournament.
The Lady Cardinals were set to wrestle in the Battle Creek Invitational on Jan. 19 before entering the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament on Jan. 22 at Homer.
