Cedar Catholic came out with a hot hand. Addison Walter hit twice from behind the arc and Camryn Loecker also connected from distance as the Lady Trojans raced to a 18-3 first quarter lead. Jaylin Geisen had Wynot’s only field goal.
Wynot would get on track in the second quarter lead by eight points from Addison Sharpe and five points from Haley Wieseler that fueled a 17-14 run. Cedar Catholic got four points each from Camyrn Loecker and Savannah Pick to maintain a 32-20 advantage at halftime.
In the third quarter the Lady Blue Devils continued to battle. A pair of treys by Addison Sharpe and a basket each from Haley Wieseler, Jordan Foxhoven and Kenna Oligmueller produced a 15-12 Blue Devil run. A couple of buckets each by Addison Walter and Anisten Wortmann for the Lady Trojans limited the damage as Cedar took a 44-36 lead into the final period.
Seven more points by Kenna Oligmueller kept the pressure on in the fourth quarter. The Lady Trojans would not fold as Savannah Pick hit a trey and Cedar hit 13 of 15 free throws down the final stretch to seal the 62-54 win.
