It is reported to the Times that the skating pond on the tennis courts at the city park is ready for action.

RANDOLPH - Pierce Manor Nursing Home at Pierce will hold public “Open House” on Sunday, January 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 p. m. The nursing home facility is located on East Main Street.
The Pierce Manor is a 61 bed, airconditioned facility, all on one floor.

RANDOLPH - Mrs. Irma Lackas, who recently held a farm sale, moved Tuesday into the residence owned by Ed Paulson of Frazee, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thelen and family recently vacated the house and moved to the George Thelen acreage.

RANDOLPH - The Pierce County Soil and Water Conservation District Annual Report shows that during 1965 a total of 299 cooperators of the district applied the following practices: Field Windbreaks .......... 58080 LF Farmstead Windbreaks .. 31 acres Grass Seedings (Native) ................. 376 acres Terraces ........ 174,500 lineal feet Waterways Seeding ..... 29 acres Tile Drainage .. 39,576 lineal feet Diversions ......... 3,010 lineal feet E. C. Dams ........................ 1 Wildlife Ponds ................... 6 Contour Farming .......... 720 acres The report shows that 44 new cooperators’ agreements were approved by the District and 35 basic conservation plans were developed and revised on 8900 acres.
Roy Norman, chairman of the District, reports that in addition to the above mentioned practices, about 20,000 acres of Pierce County were soils mapped.
This brings the total of mapped acres in Pierce County to 211,000 acres.
These soils maps are an inventory of the land showing the textures of the surface soil, depth and type of subsoil, degree of slope and percent of erosion that has taken place on the land.
