HARTINGTON — Some dedicated euchre players were given a true test of their competitive fortitude Monday Evening.
With 30 teams poised and ready to deal the first hand at the Sudbeck Service Card Tournament, the lights went out, and the entire town of Bow Valley was in the dark.
“My wife found some candles to get us back in the game, and it turned out to be kind of neat,” said owner Lloyd Sudbeck.
Duane Lammers, line supt. for CKPPD said the outage occurred shortly after 8 p.m., when a broken wire fell into some energized equipment at the Bow Valley Sub-station.
