Coleridge Village Board reorganizes for new year

COLERIDGE — Coleridge Village Board of Trustees has reorganized for 2016 and is ready for the new year.

George R. Hefner was re-elected as the 2016 Board Chairman. Mary Jo Hansen was re-elected as the Chairperson for the Park View Haven/The Embers Board.

Greg Meier will serve as the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development Network representative.

Leroy Cautrell was reaffirmed for a three-year term for representative to the Wau-Col Rural Water System Advisory Board.

The following appointments to various boards were made by the village board members.

Health Board: Darby Weller, Brandon Fiscus, Chairman George R. Hefner Safety Committee: Sharon Anderson, Trustee, Greg Meier Tree Board: Jon Polak, Bill Hefner, Jeff Wemhoff and Don Heitman Zoning and Planning Commission: Jim Fish, Rick Lage, Jerry Puppe, Ron Wege and Chad Frerichs Community Development Block Grant Board: Earl Papenhausen, Nick Puppe, Leroy Cautrell, Ron Wege and Dennis Naslund.

Housing Authority Board: Earl Papenhausen, Mert Hahne, James Litel, Robert Yost and Gary Frerichs.

Village residents will soon have the opportunity to take part in an Attitude Survey that will cover several topics, including economic development, attitude, income and housing.

The survey would be necessary for any type of government funding which includes grants and low interest loans.

Village board members are working with Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District to put the finishing touches on the survey.

Board members reviewed a draft of the survey at the December village meeting.

Board members took steps to raise the utility rates a small amount. The new rates took effect Jan. 1, 2016, according to George Hefner.
