On-ice Discover Ice Fishing event at Norfolk cancelled

LINCOLN — The on-ice portion of the Discover Ice Fishing event scheduled for Jan. 10 at Norfolk’s Skyview Lake has been cancelled because of a lack of ice.

Because of that cancellation, the classroom clinic hosted by Nebraska Game and Parks and the Nebraska Fish and Game Association will be extended beyond noon. That event begins at 9 a.m. Jan. 10 at Norfolk Lodge and Suites, 4200 Norfolk Ave. It will feature presentations by some of Nebraska’s top ice fishermen. Registration is requested by emailing [email protected] with names of attendees.

Game and Parks’ Youth Fishing Program is scheduled to host another on-ice event from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 24 at Omaha’s Flanagan Lake (near boat ramp). A lack of safe ice would force its cancellation.
