RANDOLPH —A new post office has been authorized for Randolph according to Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield.
The accepted site is located across from the city auditorium and was offered by Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rosebach and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sherwood for $3,000.

RANDOLPH — Announcement was made this week of the sale of the Berget Funeral Home by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Berget to Ray O’Neill, Randolph funeral director. Ray O’Neill has been funeral home director here the past five years.

RANDOLPH —Four Randolph service stations have announced that effective Jan. 8, only one of the stations will be open on Sundays.
Involved are Andersen Mobile Service, Home Oil Co., Randolph Oil Co., and Weyhrich Skelly Service.

RANDOLPH — The official census figure released by the government shows that the population of the City of Randolph has increased from 1,063 in 1960 to 1,130 in 1970. In general Cedar County has shown a slight decrease in population in the last 10 years.
Sp5. Merlin Folkers, son of Mrs. Emma Folkers, has received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
Specialist Folkers was stationed the past 15 months at Fort Davis, Panama Canal Zone.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph High Cardettes kept their record clean with six wins and no losses as they won the Wayne State College Invitational Basketball Tournament.
The Cardettes defeated Laurel 51-29 and Stanton 54-24.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Fire Department had its annual oyster stew feed Monday with ambulance drivers, officers of the rural district and retired firemen in attendance.
About 60 attended the event at the Randolph Fire Hall.

RANDOLPH — Mrs. Tom Dorn has joined the Tri-County Co-op as a nutritionist in the feed department.
Mrs. Dorn has a Master’s degree from UNL in Beef Nutrition with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She will be at the Co-op three days a week.

RANDOLPH — Randolph fire and rescue units weresummonedThursdayat1:40p.m.toextinguish a small house fire at the rural residence of Greg and Ann Pfanstiel. The Pfanstiel residence is located approximately three miles north of Randolph.
According to Randolph Fire Department Chief Lavern Scott, the fire was extinguished by Ann Pfanstiel with a garden hose before the fire department arrived.
