COLERIDGE — Robert J. Boyer, Yankton, was fined $100 and $7 court costs; Randolph Robinson, Laurel, $100 and $7 court costs; and Harold Boyer, Yankton, $15 and $7 court costs by Judge Hesse at a hearing Wednesday as a result of complaints of assault and battery by Donald Starks, Leonard Kurtzhals and Henry Specht.
The charges were from Saturday’s street fight carried on by the two Boyers and Robinson here.
A parole officer following the hearing took Robinson, who was on parole, to Sioux City. The Boyers and Robinson were employed by the Pender Construction Co., contractors, who are building St.
Michael’s Church here.
Sheriff Ralph Clements reported two youth had confessed forging checks in the county and have been jailed at Pender.
Sheriff Clements was called to Laurel Friday night on a complaint of check forgery.
The youth, Thomas Kane, Pilger, and Stanley Van Cleave, South Sioux City, were picked up Sunday by Patrolman Thompson at Winnebago and were jailed at Dakota City. They admitted to Sheriff Clements forging checks from $10 to $31.40 in 12 towns in five counties. They also admitted several thefts.

COLERIDGE — Hollis Holcomb and Gilbert Hochstein were involved in a two-car collision Tuesday when they met on a hilltop a mile east and a quarter north of the Pearl Creek School. Holcomb, alone in his car, sustained chest injuries and face cuts. Mr. and Mrs. Hochstein and daughter escaped injury. Both cars were completely demolished.
Dale Dennis was seriously injured early Saturday morning when the car in which he was riding left the road and was wrecked. Mr. Dennis suffered a crushed chest and various internal injuries and was taken to a Norfolk hospital.
The accident occurred about 1-1/4 miles west of the Laurel weigh station. It was believed he hit a patch of frost.
