Short-handed Trojans wrestle in Pierce dual tourney

PIERCE - The Cedar Catholic boys wrestling team traveled to Pierce on Dec. 19 without a couple of key wrestlers for the Pierce Duals Invitational and came away with four losses as far as the team standings.

The hosts defeated Cedar in its first dual 5121, Fremont downed the Trojans 55-23, David City 54-24 and Lincoln Southwest bettered the Trojans 56-24.

Easton Hochstein went 3-0 at 157 but got a push in his first match from Brenden Bolling of Pierce which Hochstein won in sudden victory after the match was tied after the first six minutes then pinned his next two opponents.

Brady Hochstein went 4-0 on the day with four pins, and by time, didn’t wrestle a full match as his total time on the mat in his four sticks was 4-minutes and 17-seconds.

Bodie Hochstein suffered a rare defeat on the day. Cole DeBoer of Pierce caught him off guard in the first period of their match to earn the pin. He also collected a pair of pins and technical fall win.

Other wrestlers competing in the tournament for the Trojans were Blake Bensen (126), Keyan Wickre (132), Keaton Keiser (138) and Anson Noecker (190).
