WYNOT — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils steadily built up their lead quarter by quarter against the Wausa Lady Vikings on Friday night as they earned a 46-36 win over the Lewis and Clark Conference rival.
Wynot got double-figure scoring out of a trio of players lead by Addison Sharpe’s 15 points. Kenna Oligmueller hit for 12 points and Haley Wieseler chipped in with her 10 point effort.
Taylor Dawson led the Lady Vikings with 13 points and Rega Gillian, Avery Stevens, Izzy Seagren and Carlie Klienschmit had five points each for the visitors.
Kenna Oligmueller hit for six firstquarter points and Haley Wieseler had a putback to help open up an 11-8 advantage.
Taylor Dawson had a bucket plus one and Isabelle Dawson had a driving layup for Wasua.
In the second quarter Kinsley Dawson and Taylor Dawson drained a three pointer each for the Lady Vikings. Wynot’s Addison Sharpe had the hot hand countered with 10 points along with a pair of treys to give Wynot the 24-18 halftime lead.
In the third period, Tayor Dawson dumped in five points for the visiting Vikings and Isabelle Saegren drained a long three-pointer to try and cut into the Lady Devil lead.
Wynot held them off thanks to a pair of buckets by Haley Wieseler and a three pointer by Tiara Sudbeck as the Lady Devils took the 35-26 lead into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter the Lady Vikings got three points by Reagan Gillian and went six for seven from the free throw line but it was not enough. Wynot got three more points from Haley Wieseler and a basket each from Sharpe and Oligmueller to earn the ten point 46-36 win.
