Wynot boys move to 4-1 with a pair of L&C wins
WYNOT — The Wynot Blue Devils used consistent offense throughout the game and a very stingy defense in the second half to take down the Wausa Vikings Friday 58-26.
Devin Brummer hit a pair of three pointers and went seven of eight from the charity stripe to take scoring honors for the game with his 14 points. Kotner Koch contributed a series of mid- range jumpers to finish right behind him with 13 points for the home team.
Koy Kraft paced the Vikings with 12 points and Preston Scholte had a good first half contributing eight points to the Vikings cause.
Kayton Anderson and Koy Kraft drained three pointers early in the opening quarter for the visiting Vikings. Wynot countered with five points each by Killian Steinhaus and Kotner Koch as earned a 14-8 early lead.
In the second quarter Wausa tried to rally behind a trio of short jumpers by Koy Kraft and Preston Schulte worked the paint area for a couple of baskets in close. Wynot continue to build a lead behind a pair of buckets by Justin Heimes and a bucket each from Steinhaus, Koch and Carter Hans as Wynot took the 28- 18 halftime lead.
The Blue Devils defense would show up for the second half. In the third quarter the Vikings were held to a single field goal and some free throws. Meanwhile Devin Brummer heated up as he hit for eight points in the quarter and Kotner Koch contributed four more points as Wynot went on a 15-5 run to increase their lead to 43-23.
The Vikings could manage three points from Matt Schindler in the final quarter. Wynot got four points from Braylon Hans and a three pointer each from Devin Brummer and Justin Heimes as they cruised to the 58-26 win.
The Blue Devils hosted the O’Neill St. Mary Cardinals for their final game before the Christmas break on Monday night.

The Blue Devils put 11 players in the score book as they easily dispatched the Homer Knights Tuesday, 65-21.
Wynot was led by Killian Steinhaus with 12 points and Devin Brummer and Justin Heimes each chipped in with eight points. Homer was led by Jessup Snowball with six points and Riddic Kearnes with five points.
Wynot got their offense rolling early. Six points by Killian Steinhaus and four points by Justin Heimes and Braylon Hans got the Blue Devils off to a 21-10 first-quarter advantage. Reed Miller hit a pair of baskets and Gavin Albrecth drained a three pointer for the Knight.
The Blue Devils pulled away in the second quarter lead by six more points by Killian Steinhaus and five points by Devin Brummer. The 19-2 run gave the Blue Devils a 4012 halftime lead.
Jessup Snowball had the lone field goal for the Knights in the third quarter. Wynot continued a balanced attack lead by five points from Nixen Heimes, three points by Lane Heimes and five other Blue Devils would score as the Blue Devils increased their lead to 58-15 after three quarters of play.
Riddic Kearnes hit a pair of baskets for Homer in the final quarter. Wynot got baskets by Jace Lange and Kingsten Hans to make the final score 65-21.
Wynot hosts Wausa on Friday night.
