Sept. 1: Fire alarm goes off at Colonial Manor in Randolph. It is discovered that it is a faulty alarm and no emergency personnel are dispatched.

Burn permit is issued for Todd Thoene.

Rural Hartington woman calls to say a bullet was just shot through their window and lodged in their wall. “I’m sure someone was out hunting. We are okay.”

Sept. 2: Colonial Manor requests ambulance for man who is throwing up and has very low blood preassure.

Driver on Higheay 12 reports a black dog is oiut on the highway and is chasing cars.

Driver reported a vehicle traveling at high rate of speed on Highway 81 swerving in and out of traffic.

Laurel fire department issues burn permit to Jon Pehrson.

Driver reported he backed into a car in Laurel, but can’t find the owner.

Coleridge woman calls to say two people have been stealing from her property. She now has them detained in her back yard and would like to have an officer come to her house.

Driver reports street lights on Hwy. 20 through Randolph are blinking rapidly and making it difficult to see.

Sept. 3: Hartington bank calls to report a burgler alarm was just set off accidentally.

Convenience store calls to report someone drove off without paying for their gas purchase.

Man calls to find out who to contact to get a handicap sticker for his vehicle.

Man calls to request a vehicle inspection.

Medical alert company calls to report a client’s alarm went off. Sheriff s Department calls and finds out the man is ok and does not know why his alarm would have gone off.

Sept. 4: Laurel fire department calls to report they issued a burn permit.

Woman calls to report she just received a scam call. The caller said her 'credit card was used to rent a car and that car was found on the Texas, Mexico border full of drugs and blood. Once I told them I would not give them my banking information, they said they would get an arrest warrant for me since I was not cooperating.” Dispatcher said it definitely sounds like a scam and she should be all right if she did not give them any personal information.

Man calls to report his phone just accidentally called 911 while he was out mowing.

Woman calls to report she and her friend were just assaulted by a man that had been helping them.

Man calls to report he was walking on the Meridian Bridge the night before and lost his wallet. He wants to know if anyone turned it in.

Sept. 5: Wynot Fire Department issues a burn permit for Paul Goeden.

Colonial Manor requests an ambulance for an elderly resident experiencing abdominal pain.

Man reports he just witnessed a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. 81 two miles south of Yankton. A vehicle left the road, went into a ditch,through a fence and into a field. The driver has a cut over his eye but does not want an ambulance.

Woman calls concerned that a neighbor continues to take pictures of her and her son. She is told if the pictures are being taken of things outside her residence, there is nothing that can be done.

Coleridge ambulance dispatched for a woman who is having severe back pain.

Sept. 6: Woman calls seeking a welfare check. Her ex-husband has the kids, who had not been feeling well. He is not answering his phone and she wants to make sure everything is all right.

Sept. 7: Ambulance dispatched to Murdos for a man experiencing heart attack symptoms.

Area nursing home requests ambulance for man having severe medical issues.

Man calls that a woman was on his property and she got into a big arguement with his hired hand. She broke the window out of one of his vehicles.

Sheriffs Department makes a welfare check in Coleridge after receiving complaints that a man has been beating his dog, and started a bonfire near his house.

Man calls to report a side-by-side all terrain vehicle fell off their trailer while the were driving from Crofton. They didn’t realize the vehicle was missing until they stopped in Carrol.

Sept. 8: Hartington ambulance paged out for woman who is running a fever, has shortness of breath and is nauseous.

A large spool of wire must have fallen off a truck or trailer and is now in the middle of Highway 81.

Woman had items stolen from her home called to say she now has a complete inventory of items taken. She was given an email address to send info in.

Caller complains she just drove through an accident scene. ‘You need to tell your officers not to hit my car with their wands. I was just now driving past a scene and one of your officers hit my car with his wand.” Dispatcher said no Cedar County deputies were investigating an accident at the moment. It was determined she is in Wayne County. She was told to call Wayne County.

Hartington man calls to say he hired a contractor to work at his house. “They have been sitting in their truck three-quarters of the time. We found out they are registered sex offenders and now we are worried about our kids. This should have been a one-day job.

Elderly Coleridge man fell and no one can get him back up. He is breathing but needs an ambulance.

Coleridge ambulance is called out for a woman having heart palpatations.

Man calls seeking information on how to contact the area Game Warden.

Yankton County calls to inform law enforcement here there has been some vandalism on the south end of the Meridian Bridge.

Convenience store worker calls about an employee who recently quit. Employee said they will return a key to the manager, but not just another employee.

Sept. 10: Caller reports a two-vehicle non-injury accident at the St. Helena spur and Highway 12 intersection.

Laurel ambulance called out for a woman who injured herself when she fell.

Caller reports her neighbor is not home, but his air conditioning unit is making loud noises and sparks are flying. She is concerned it could start a fire.

Sept. 11: Randolph ambulance page out for female resident who is having chest pains and an irregular heart beat.

Woman calls asking about some vehicles with Utah license plates that are in this area.
