NORFOLK — The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans snapped into the win column Monday night, earning a hard-fought 44-43 overtime victory over Norfolk Catholic in a defensive battle on Dec. 15.
Norfolk Catholic carried a 24-20 lead into halftime, but Cedar Catholic chipped away in the second half, trimming the deficit to one after three quarters before tying the game at the end of regulation to force overtime. The Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Knights 4-3 in the extra four minutes to secure their first win of the 2025-26 season.

Earlier in the week, O’Neill visited the Monsignor Werner Activities Center and took advantage of a cold-shooting night by Cedar Catholic, pulling away for a 64-45 win on Dec. 12 to improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Lady Trojans trailed throughout the first half, falling behind 22-13 after one quarter and managing just six points in the second. Cedar Catholic’s defense limited O’Neill to 12 points in the period, keeping the margin at 33-19 at halftime.
O’Neill added four more points to its lead in the third quarter and then coasted to the 19-point victory.
Anisten Wortmann led all scorers with 26 points, going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Addison Walter added 10 points and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds. Camryn Loecker knocked down a 3-pointer, while Wortmann grabbed seven rebounds. Brynn Bernecker pulled down six boards, Savannah Pick had five rebounds and Bernecker added four steals.
Cedar Catholic was set to host Crofton on Dec. 16 before traveling to Atkinson on Dec. 19 to face West Holt.
