WYNOT — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils hosted West Point Guardian Angels on Thursday in a matchup featuring two of northeast Nebraska’s top girls basketball teams.
The game was tightly contested through the first half, but Wynot created separation after halftime and pulled away for a 50-40 victory.
Kenna Oligmueller led all scorers with 25 points for the Lady Blue Devils, asserting herself inside and from the perimeter. Addison Sharpe added 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers to give Wynot an additional offensive spark.
West Point Guardian Angels received balanced scoring, led by Abi Toline with 12 points. Hailey Kriekmeier added eight points, while Charlie Dinslage finished with six. In all, nine players scored for the Blue Jays.
The teams traded baskets in the opening quarter. Toline scored five points for Guardian Angels, and Dinslage connected on a 3-pointer. Wynot countered with three long-range shots from Sharpe and a pair of baskets in the paint by Oligmueller to take a slim 15-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Guardian Angels stayed within striking distance in the second quarter behind two more baskets from Toline and one basket apiece from Kriekmeier and Julie Ridder. Oligmueller scored seven points in the period for Wynot, while Jaylin Giesen added a 3-pointer as the Lady Blue Devils carried a 26-21 lead into halftime.
Guardian Angels attempted to rally in the third quarter with a 3-pointer from Dinslage and a three-point play by Toline. The push was short-lived, however, as Oligmueller took control, scoring 10 points in the quarter, including two 3-pointers, to help Wynot maintain a 37-31 advantage heading into the final period.
In the fourth quarter, GACC received a basket from each of the Kriekmeier sisters, but Wynot closed the game with a 13-9 run. A 3-pointer by Haley Wieseler, baskets from Oligmueller and Jordan Foxhoven, and a 5-of-7 performance from the free-throw line sealed the win for the Lady Blue Devils.

The Wynot Lady Blue Devils defense held the Osmond Lady Tigers to single digit scoring in every quarter on Friday night as they rolled to the 53-24 win. Wynot’s coach Steve Wieseler played his entire bench in this one as the Blue Devils improved their season record to 3-1 with the win.
Wynot was led by Addison Sharpe who connected four times from long range on her way to take top scoring honors with14 points. Kenna Oligmueller continued her steady play with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Osmond was paced by Korrine Moes who led the Tigers with her 14 points.
Addison Sharpe drained a trio of three pointers to open the scoring action for the Lady Blue Devils and lead her team to an early 16-7 first quarter advantage. Corrina Kumm had a pair of baskets to lead the Lady Tigers.
A basket plus one was all the offense the Lady Tigers could muster in the second quarter. Wynot got four points from Kenna Oligmueller and three pointers by Haley Wieseler and Tiara Sudbeck as they went into the locker room at half leading 31-10.
The third quarter saw Wynot get a pair of baskets inside from Kenna Oligmueller and Addison Sharpe hit her fourth trey of night. Osmond got four more points from Korrine Moes but fell further behind trailing 40-15 going into the final quarter of play.
Osmond got something going in the fourth quarter with 5 points from Corrine Moes and four points from Kaleigh Miller. Wynot would finish with four more points from Oligmueller and shot clock beating three pointer by Jaylin Giesen to earn the 53-24 win.
