HARTINGTON—The Hartington Wildcats boys basketball team rolled to a pair of Lewis and Clark Conference wins last week. Hartington hosted Allen Eagles and won 58-50. Hartington traveled to Wakefield to battle the Trojans and won 65-51.

CROFTON—Cedar Catholic seniors Matt Hames and Neil Wortmann both reached the 1,000-point plateau for their careers during action here.

HARTINGTON—Cedar Catholic dominated Crofton 80-36 and squeaked past previously undefeated Madison, 66-58. Cedar was led by Neil Wortmann, who dropped in 28 points in the Madison game.

HARTINGTON — Christmas fills our hearts with thoughts of Christmas trees, giving gifts, and the birth of Jesus. Family members come from a distance or just down the road for family gatherings at Christmas time.

There are several families in Cedar County who will have an empty spot at their table on Christmas day this year.

Michelle and Karl Koch’s son, Ryan, who is serving with the 189th Transportation Company, will be spending Christmas in Iraq.

Michelle has been impressed with the Family Readiness Group that helps soldiers as well as the family that is left behind while their family member is away from home serving their country.
