Dec. 2, 1920

RANDOLPH - Randolph closed its football season before a large crowd Thanksgiving Day by defeating the heavy Coleridge eleven 25-3 in a hard fought game replete with thrills of all kinds. The team showed its best football of the season and demonstrated its right to a championship claim for northeastern Nebraska.

Within the last two weeks of the season Randolph defeated Hartington, Wayne and Coleridge by big scores and these victories together with victories earlier in the season over Plainview and Laurel leave only one team (Wakefield) with a victory over us unavenged — and Hartington just after her defeat at the hands of Randolph decisively trimmed Wakefield 14-0 in another Thanksgiving Day battle. Bloomfield was trimmed by both Wakefield and Albion so her hopes went a glimmering.

The real championship is in somewhat of a muddle and whether or not any post-season games will be arranged to play it off is unknown but the probabilities are since all schools are anxious to begin practice for basketball there will be no play-off.

In the game against Coleridge every man starred. Captain Sherwood and Tubby Bernard, playing his last game for Randolph carried the ball through the Coleridge line.
