COLERIDGE — Changes are coming to a Coleridge landmark.
Lonnie’s Bar and Grill in Coleridge will have a new owner and a new name.
Long-time Coleridge resident Mark Rose is expecting to take over ownership this week from Lonnie and Mary Lou Sackschewsky. Rose has been in the process of getting his liquor license.
Lonnie’s, which has been a familiar fixture in Coleridge for 25 years, will be known as Rodeo’s Bar and Grill.
The new name holds special meaning for Rose.
“The name is in memory of my brother, Scott. He was known as Rodeo when he was in high school,” Rose said.
The only other change will be a few new additions to the menu.
Most of the food selection will remain the same as Lonnie’s has a reputation for serving great food that draws in customers from a large area.
Rose is familiar with the food and service that had been provided. He had worked at Lonnie’s for four or five years back in the late 1990s.
Rose will continue to offer coffee and cookies in the mornings.
Rodeo’s Bar and Grill will be open Monday- Thursday, from nine a.m.-10 or 11 p.m.
On Friday and Saturday, the hours will run from nine a.m. until whatever time people stop coming in.
“Later on, I plan to be open on Sunday afternoon and evenings,” Rose said.
