December is filled with Holiday concerts, events

HARTINGTON — Now that Candlelight Christmas and Thanksgiving are over, the holiday season is officially underway.

For area residents, the start of the Holiday season means decorating for Christmas, shopping for gifts and doing holiday baking.

It also means a full calendar of seasonal events at area schools and churches Here is a look at what is coming up in the next few weeks: East-West Catholic Elementary School will hold its annual Christmas concert on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.

Hartington-Newcastle Elementary School will hold its Christmas concert in the school gym on Monday Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Cedar Catholic will put on its annual Christmas concert the next night, Tuesday, Dec. 9. The concert is set to begin at 7 p.m. and will feature both band and choral performances.

Wynot will also hold its K-6 elementary school concert on Tuesday, Dec. 9 Hartington-Newcastle's Jr.-Sr. High School concert will be Monday Dec. 15.

The annual Holy Trinity Christmas concert is slated for Wednesday, Dec. 17 in the Holy Trinity gymnasium. The concert will feature Pre-K through sixth graders.

Wynot will hold its 7-12 grade Christmas concert on Dec. 18.

On Friday, Dec. 19 Cedar Catholic, East-West Catholic and Holy Trinity will all have an early dismissal as they let students out for a lengthy Christmas break. Classes will not resume again until Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026.
