Holiday events planned in Randolph

RANDOLPH — With the arrival of Thanksgiving this week, the holiday season is officially underway.

One of the first Holiday events of the season will be the ROAR Merry and Bright Showcase of Holiday Trees event Nov. 29-30. Santa will also be on hand from 1-3 p.m., Nov. 29, to visit with area children.

For area residents, the start of the Holiday season also means decorating for Christmas, shopping for gifts and doing holiday baking. It also means a full calendar of seasonal events at Randolph Public Schools and the Lied Randolph Public Library.

Here is a look at what is coming up: School events

Elementary Winter Concert — 7 p.m., Dec. 8, Randolph High School building.

Music Boosters meal (before the concert) 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Dec. 8, HS Commons BBQ pork, chips, water, bar or cookie Free-will donation — Junior/Senior High Winter Concert — 7 p.m., Dec. 15, HS Commons — FCCLA Holiday Cookie Party — 6:30 p.m., Dec. 18 — FFA Holiday Gathering — 6:30 p.m., Dec. 22 — Holiday Dismissal — 2 p.m., Dec. 23 Library events

Zeke the Elf returns — Dec. 1 to stir up some Christmas mischief at the Lied Randolph Public Library Christmas Coffee & Open House — 9 a.m. to noon, Dec. 9. Author Marci Broyhill will speak about Christmas Memories from the 1940s
