Honoring our Veterans

Honoring our Veterans

Work is underway on the Laurel Area Veterans Memorial. The structure is being built east of the Laurel Community Center on Second Street. Laurel veterans recently released artist’s drawings of the memorial. Donations are still being sought for construction, upkeep, and future additions like a stand with a reference book to find a name. Laurel American Legion Post 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4504 members kicked off the capital campaign in 2024 for the Memorial. Individuals, organizations or businesses who wish to mail their donations or pledges are encouraged to utilize the form found in the Laurel Area Veterans Memorial brochure. Brochures are available from American Legion Post 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4504 members, as well as: Security Bank, Galyen Boettcher Baier PC LLO, Citizens State Bank and Laurel Hometown Market. Please make checks payable to the Laurel Area Community Foundation Fund. Donations or pledges may be mailed to: Laurel Area Community Foundation Fund, P.O. Box 278, Laurel, NE 68745. Donations can also be dropped off at Security Bank.
