LCC school in Laurel and the LCC Middle School in Coleridge both held community celebrations last week to honor area veterans on Veterans Day. (right) Laurel veterans salute the flag at the start of Tuesday’s program in the LCC gym. (below) A trio of LCC Middle School students were named as Patriots Pen Award winners. They are seventh graders: Liam Recob 3rd; Tenlie Christiansen, 1st; Camryn Campbell, 2nd. They were asked to write an essay on “What does Patriotism Mean To You. Their awards were presented as part of the program at the Middle School. Tenlie Christiansen’s first place essay will be sent on to the VFW District contest. (bottom right) Taylor Funk hands thank you cards to the veterans at the Veterans Day program.
