HARTINGTON - Chapter HZ hosted the annual Reciprocity IV meeting Oct 4 at Hard Patch Brewing Company, Hartington. Chapters from across north - east Nebraska - extending as far west as Valentine -,gathered for a day of fellowship, learning and shared purpose.
Reciprocity is held annually to promote collaboration among local chapters, allowing members to exchange ideas and resources for mutual benefit. This year's discussions focused on fundraising strategies, recruiting new members, and keeping current members engaged. Nebraska State President Jean Matheny's goals for the coming year, following her election at the Nebraska State Convention in June, were also shared.
The business meeting centered around P.E.O. Inter - national Projects, with members exchanging ideas on how to identify and sponsor recipients for the organiza - tion's various loans, grants and scholarships.
Following the meeting, attendees enjoyed a festive Oktoberfest-themed meal featuring schnitzel, spaetzle, red cabbage, apple coleslaw, German kielbasa, and pretzels. Guests also had the option to sample locally brewed beers from Hard Patch Brewing Company to complete the celebration.
Next year's Reciprocity IV meeting will be hosted by Wayne Chapter ID Oct. 3.
