RANDOLPH — Coach William Norvell’s Randolph Cardinals grabbed the 1950 football championship of the Northeast Nebraska conference with a smashing 32-6 victory over Creighton in a game played Friday afternoon at Creighton. The Cards ended the season with six victories, two ties, by identical 6-6 scores against Pierce and Plainview and no defeats.

RANDOLPH — Robert Schenck, Jr. left Monday with the Cedar County draft contingent for service in the armed forces. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schenck, Sr., he has been World Herald fieldman for Thurston and Dixon counties, with headquarters at Wakefield the past year.

RANDOLPH — Tom Gubbels, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Gubbels has received his discharge from the U.S. Army after two years of service. Sp/4 Gubbels was discharged at Fort Benning, GA.

RANDOLPH — Mrs. Ed Gerber took her daughter, Judy to Omaha Friday where she left Saturday by jet plane for Washington, D.C. where she plans to be employed. Karen Gerber, who attends school in Omaha, accompanied Mrs. Gerber home to spend the weekend there.

RANDOLPH — A/1C Cheryl Beltz was discharged November 10 from the U.S. Air Force at McGuire, AFB, New Jersey. She arrived a few days later at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beltz.

RANDOLPH — Sp6 Marvern Jones received his discharge from the U.S. Army on November 13 at Ft. Knox, Ky. In the service four years, one year of his tour of duty was in Vietnam. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Jones.
Specialist and Mrs. Jones and their son Tige spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Brown at Newton, Kan. enroute to Randolph.

RANDOLPH — Sp5 and Mrs. Gary Bleasdell and son Don arrived here on Saturday and are visiting at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean McGre, Mrs. M.L. Lanphear and Gale Bleasdell at South Sioux city. Specialist Bleasdell received his discharge from the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss, Texas on November 12. A year of his four-year tour of duty was spent in Korea.

RANDOLPH — Mike Reidmiller, Cub Scout in Pack 203, received the Arrow of Light award at the pack meeting on Thursday. Mike, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reidmiller, received his award after three years of scouting.

RANDOLPH — Cedar County heads a list of the top 15 counties in the state when it comes to numbers of dairy cattle and in milk production.
Cedar County is listed as having 8,000 dairy cows and produces 93,780,000 gallons of milk per year to top both lists as released by the Institute of Agriculture and Natural resources News Service at the University of Nebraska.

RANDOLPH — Saturday, Oct. 30, the Randolph FCCLA Chapter hosted their 2nd Annual Pumpkinfest at the elementary gym in Randolph. They set up many games for the kids to play, held a costume contest and ended the day with everyone getting a chance to take a swing at the witch piñata.
