RANDOLPH — Randolph Elementary fifth grade students Blakeley Brockman and Konner Thelen, students in Mrs. Guenther’s Cardinal Craniums class were assigned the project of interviewing Randolph Mayor Dwayne Schutt.
The girls came for a visit to the Mayor’s home on Sunday morning prepared with a set of 10 questions they wanted to asked the Mayor about his current term of office.
One of the big questions was how many policies has he made while in office.
He explained to the students that in city government they are called resolutions and ordinances of which 30 or more have been adopted by the City Council over the 11 years he has been in office.
When asked what was one thing the Mayor wished had been accomplished sooner or differently and he shared with them the start and completion of the city’s flood plain project, which is awaiting final approval from the Corp of Engineers.
Each student was assigned five questions to ask the Mayor. If was a great opportunity for them to learn parts of their own community’s city government. They will be presenting this in class as assigned by their teacher Mrs. Guenther.
