1965: Milander, Graham named Cedar County’s top 4-H members

HARTINGTON — Larry Feilmeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Feilmeier, and Carol Arens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Arens, were crowned king and queen at the sixth Holy Trinity Homecoming festivities at Skylon Ballroom Friday night.

In addition to being named king, Feilmeier was also named the Most Valuable Player on the 1955 Holy Trinity football team. The 1955 king and queen were crowned by last year’s royalty, Jerome Feilmeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Feilmeier, and Donna Eickhoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eickhoff.

HARTINGTON — Construction of a boat basin at the Weigand Creek Recreation Area on the Nebraska shore of the Lewis and Clark Lake five miles above Gavin’s Point Dam, has been started by the Hartington construction firm, BOC Inc.

Army Engineers awarded the contract to BOC for $17,580. Work was started last week and is to be completed within 45 days.

The man-made harbor, pearshaped in design, will cover an area equal to the size of two city blocks. It will have the capacity of about 140 small boats.

Approximately 120,000 cubic yards of excavation are involved. A seven-foot earth dike will be built around the structure with a direct
