DAKOTA CITY — Marci (Foster) Broyhill, Dakota City, was awarded two gold medallions during the Will Rogers Medallion Award Convention in Tulsa, Okla., Nov.1, in the category, Western Poetry/Written, for her publication, “Tangled Trails: Family, Friends & Folly.”
“Tangled Trails: Family Friends & Folly” shares a variety of complicated situations: historical and fictional, sad and humorous. Discover the complicated trail of a gambler and his family. Feel the despair of parents when their young child goes missing, the determination of a young girl to keep her family together after the death of her mother and the actions of a woman to save her family from financial ruin.
These stories, presented in the style of cowboy poetry genre, also include thoughts regarding trees, chickens, barbed wire and tumbleweeds. This collection is designed to generate reflection and smiles.
Marci (Foster) Broyhill, grew up in Cedar County and graduated from Hartington Public School.
