ORD — The 2025 Ord football season didn’t exactly start out the way Coach Nate Wells had envisioned.
The Chanticleers opened the season at 0-3 after losing to three state-rated teams. Since then the Chantaclears have put together a seven-game win streak, including a 21-14 win over state-rated Grand Island Central Catholic After a rough start, Ord rattled off seven straight wins to go 7-3 and head into the C2 playoff quarterfinals at Cedar Catholic with serious momentum.
With their defense tightening and their offense erupting in recent games — five wins by margins of 30+ points — Ord will arrive in Hartington hoping to flip the script.
Ord Junior Jordan Williams leads the offense.
Williams is an explosive runner who leads the team with more than 100 rushing yards per game. He earned a season-high 237 rushing yards in one contest.
He’s also dominant on defense, collecting five interceptions so far this season.
Sophomore Beau Wells is also a major threat. He averages over 60 yards per game, and is among the leaders in receptions per game. He is also a strong contributor on defense, collecting two interceptions so far this season.
When teams load up to stop the run, seniors Easton Ryschon and Landon Critel give Ord the ability to exploit the passing game.
Ryschon averages roughly 34.8 receiving yards per game and leads the team in receiving. Critel, with about 24 yards per game receiving, serves as a reliable second target.
Defensively, Ord is led by seniors Grey Geiser and Colt Meyer.
Geiser leads the team with 5.6 tackles per game, while Meyer is not far behind with 5.4 tackles per game. He has also collected three sacks so far this season.
