RANDOLPH — Approximately four or five inches of wet snow fell in the Randolph area on Sunday night and Monday. Most farmers in the Randolph area have completed their harvest.

RANDOLPH — Sgt. Terry Dowling, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dowling of Hastings, formerly of Randolph has been promoted to Staff Sergeant. S/Sgt. Dowling is stationed in upper Theyford AFB, England. His parents and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Dowling spent from August 2-15 with Terry in England.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Cardinals faced off against Ponca Wednesday playing at Ponca, 310, in the last game of the regular season. They will make their way to state Class C-1 football playoffs and travel to Wood River Oct. 31.

RANDOLPH — A Wayne participant broke a four-way tie of 10 correct answers to claim a $10 prize in the soon-to-be-concluded Times Football Contest. Duane Bargholz came closest to the total yardage.

RANDOLPH — The shelves behind the bar and inside the coolers are now empty as a downtown Randolph establishment changes its format.
Since 1991, Beverly and Vernon Loberg have operated the Lucky 13 Lounge as a bar and grill. As of Wednesday, the cozy gathering place will be a morning coffee shop. The bar will no longer serve alcohol or have an operating kitchen.

RANDOLPH — The VFW Post 5545 Auxiliary met Wednesday evening at the Post home with eight members in attendance.
Darlene Bermel, president, presided at the evening meeting. Virginia Brown acted as conductress pro-tem. Mildred Dunn, patriotic instructor also performed the duties of Chaplain.

RANDOLPH — The November ballot for the City of Randolph asks voters to decide whether to create “one” voting precinct for our community or to continue with the present two precincts, Ward I and Ward II. Two councilmen must be elected from each ward.
However, due to the population difference between the two wards, the community isn’t large enough to equally serve both wards. The city council feels changing to one ward for election purposes would better serve our community as a whole.

RANDOLPH — Randolph will be the place to be on Saturday, Nov. 6 as the Randolph Woman’s Club will be holding their annual fall craft show.
The Randolph Annual Fall Craft Show will be held at the Randolph City Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature crafters from Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa.

RANDOLPH — Several Randolph area residents hit milestones during a Lifeserve blood drive here last week.
Michael Schmit, Randolph, has now donated one gallon of blood., Paul Schmit, Randolph, has now donated two gallons of blood.
Elaine Bloomquist, Randolph, reached an even bigger milestone. She has now donated nine gallons of blood.
