STANTON — The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge Bears ended the 2025 football season Friday on the wrong end of a 68-12 score.
Both teams entered the contest at 2-5 and with a slight possibility for a playoff berth.
The Mustangs scored early and often on their way to a surprisingly easy 68-12 blitzing over the Bears.
Any hopes LCC had of taking the game disappeared when Stanton scored 36 points in the second quarter after scoring twice in the first frame.
To show how the game went, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got on the board in the second quarter when Drey Puppe found the end zone on an 11-yard run to make it 28-6.
The Mustangs returned the ensuing kickoff 50 yards to answer the Bears’ touchdown and really never looked back.
Parker Hoeppner found the endzone in the fourth quarter for the Bears on a 16 yard run and after Stanton answered that score the final score was set.
The Bears did get 148 yards through the air in the game, but only seven on the ground.
Meanwhile the Mustangs racked up 495 yards, 154 through the air and 341 on the ground.
Stanton did manage to get into the playoffs with the N0. 29 seed and will take on No. 4 Ravenna in the opening round.
