“The girls went out and ran a good race,” said HNS coach, Lisa Rolfes. “It’s never easy to watch a senior do their last race. It’s something you know is coming all year, but you’re never prepared for it.”
Rolfes covered the 5,000-meters in 24:30.56 which put her in 34th place Steffen placed 41st with a 25:19.43.
“These two girls will be missed next year,” the coach said. “Their leadership this year is going to be something that impacts future teams for several years down the road and I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to coach them.”
