Wynot girls advance to L&C title game
RANDOLPH - Wynot was set to take on Tri County Northeast in the finals of the Lewis & Clark Conference Volleyball Tournament Oct. 21 after wins over Osmond in the quarterfinals and Homer in the semifinals on Oct. 20.
The Lady Blue Devils defeated Homer 25-13, 25-21 and 25-21 to advance to the finals after disposing of Osmond 25-13 and 25-17 in the opening round.
Against the Homer Lady Knights, Wynot had little trouble in the first set then rode the momentum to the sweep.
Kenna Oligmueller paced the Lady Blue Devils with a double-double posting 12 kills and 10 digs. Mya Pinkelman and Taylor Pinkelman had six and five winners respectively.
Haley Wieseler tipped up 25 set assists and Tiara Sudbeck recorded four ace serves.
Taylor Pinkelman had four stuffs at the net defensively, Oligmueller and Jordan Foxhoven each added three. Jaylin Geisen registered 25 digs, Foxhoven had 20.
In the best-of-three-sets sweep over Osmond, Oligmueller had eight slams, Mya Pinkelman added four and Taylor Pinkelman tacked on three.
Wieseler had 18 assists, Oligmueller had three ace serves while Geisen and Kiera Heimes each had two.
After the conference tournament, the Lady Blue Devils will head to the D2-3 Subdistrict Tournament Oct. 27 and 28 with sites and brackets to be determined.
