RANDOLPH — A random poll conducted with the players, coaches and fans that attended last week’s home volleyball match told it all. Tuesday evening’s Lady Cardinal win over Tilden Elkhorn Valley for Parent’s Night was huge.
Sparked by a strong performance by sophomore Lyndsee Loberg, the team handed the Lady Falcons Valley its third consecutive defeat.

RANDOLPH — These three words make up the theme of Gary Weldon’s “Drew It and Sayno” puppet show that features an anti-alcohol, tobacco and illegal drug message. Weldon, of Pisgah, Iowa, will bring the message in his puppet presentation at the Randolph Elementary School.
Weldon has been a professional entertainer for more than 20 years and recently began performing his anti-substance abuse program.

RANDOLPH —A light agenda was covered by the Randolph city Council at Tuesday’s regular monthly meeting. Local resident Gary Dominisse presented the Council with a request for a storage building construction permit at his property on the east side of Randolph.

RANDOLPH — Rose Mason of Tarbox Hollow near Dixon demonstrated the art of spinning buffalo fur to fourth grade classes at the Randolph Elementary School last week.
She talked to the students about living on prairie and also displayed a number of Native Nebraska grasses.

RANDOLPH — Commissioner Wilbur Warneke was nominated chairman in the absence of Board Chairman Marvin Elwood when the Pierce County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 2.
Bridges were the main topic of the day as Commissioner Dwaine Gansebom reported that another bridge had been damaged during the weekend.

RANDOLPH — E-mail is the next best thing to being there. Such was the case for Russ Korth from Arizona who picked up the $10 prize in this week’s Times Football Contest. Korth has been e-mailing his entry to the Times in all but one contest this season.

RANDOLPH — An open house was held at the city office Oct. 13, for downtown business persons to offer input and ask questions regarding the planned street improvement project.
It will make sidewalk improvements mandatory for downtown businesses in the four-block area to be paved.
Terry Mead of JEO Consulting and Mayor Neil Kluver were present to answer questions and gather ideas from the business representatives.
