COLERIDGE — The American Legion Post #114 and its Auxiliary Unit #114 held theirmonthlymeetingOct.6,attheColeridgeCommunityBuilding.Theunitsjointly recitedthePledgeofAllegianceandthenseparatedandheldtheirmonthlymeetings.
President V. Gullicksen called the meeting to order. She gave a reading and a prayer, followed by a moment of silence in memory of our departed.
Secretary B. Lage called the role with seven members responding. She also read theminutesoftheAugustmeeting,whichwereapprovedaspresented.Thetreasurer report was given,and approved.
Motion was made by J. Burbach and seconded by R. Polak to purchase poppies for next year and make our donations as presented. This year’s essay theme is “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and the Veterans that fought for our Country.” J. BurbachwillbeintouchwiththeLCCMiddleSchooltohavekidsdraftessaysforsuch.
Members will host Community Bingo at The Embers Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m. The Christmas gathering with members will be Dec. 13, with a luncheon at noon at Rodeo’s Bar & Grill.
Just a reminder, District Fundraiser will be Oct. 26, in South Sioux City, for a lunch from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
