HARTINGTON — The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojan volleyball squad dropped a pair of games in a triangular at the Monsignor Werner Activities Center Oct. 9 to Wynot and Ponca.
Wynot swept Cedar 25-22 and 25-14 after Ponca downed the Lady Trojans 17-25, 27-25 and 25-17.
In the match with the Lady Blue Devils, the Lady Trojans battled in the first set before falling by the 2522 final score then dropped the final set by the 11-point deficit.
Addison Walter set the pace on the attack with five winners in the match Anisten Wortmann and Brynn Bernecker each had two.
Autumn Kathol had three ace serves and tipped up seven set assists, Kally Becker registered five assists.
Bernecker had 10 digs in the match, Wortmann added nine as Wynot improved to 19-4 on the season.
In the match with the Lady Indians, Cedar Catholic took the opening set by the 25-17 final score and looked confident heading into the second race to 25.
The Lady Trojans trailed 18-16 when back-to-back ace serves by Wortmann evened the set.
After a Cedar hitting error and a Ponca ace serve, Savannah Pick slammed then hammered an overpass back over the net to even the score again at 20-20.
The set was tied again at 22 and 23, but the Lady Indians went up to set-point before a monster kill by Brynn Bernecker evened things once again at 24-24.
The set got tied again at 25 but a Ponca winner and a Cedar Catholic hitting error closed out the set and evened the match at 1-1.
Ponca came out in the deciding set and took care of business to take the match by the 25-17 final score.
